Daegu Lantern Festival 2019
I finally made it to the colorful Daegu Lantern Festival held in commemoration of Budda’s birthday. People write their wishes on a Wish Lantern and release it to the sky followed by a fireworks show and a Lantern Parade.

The festival is something I recommend to attend once; it is an excellent opportunity to witness Buddist culture through cultural performances, the beautiful display of lanterns in the sky and the exceptional lantern parade. Although the entire festival lasts only a few hours (3 hours), we had to be there early as 3:30 to secure our spots given the multitude of people that attend the festival.
